Our Founding Story
The story of Destination Wine begins with our founder, Virginie Ajot a native French with decades of experience in the wine industry in both France and the US.
Virginie is a certified specialist in wines and spirits with an emphasis on both French Wines and wine tasting, graduated from the prestigious Lycée Viticole de Beaune in Burgundy France.
She realized early on, that her palate was a tremendous asset and decided to work in an industry she was passionate about Wine & Spirits. Her passion about wine is not only about the final product, but her interest in grape variety and their characteristics, geography, wine history, technique of products, wine tasting and more.
To her, bringing new wines to the US Market does not involve just selling the wines, it involves understanding deeply what the products are and being proud of representing them. She has worked in every role within the importing and distributing industry from a sales representative, a lecturer of wine classes, to a sommelier and more — giving her unprecedented connections in the wine industry.
